Short Stories
Has anyone ever tried reading short stories as a way to get interested in reading?
Here are some very popular short stories many students of English around the world often read in their studies (in American high schools we also read these stories):
"The Call of the Wild" by Jack London
"Journey to the Center of the Earth" by Jules Verne
"The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway
"The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry
"The Last Leaf" by O. Henry
"The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe
These are just some classics all students of English are likely to read. They're all available through Penguin Publisher.
For the most part you can find all of these stories also available online for free.
