Writing Prompts to Spark Creativity

Hello!

This is Teacher Ben at E52. I’ve listed some quality writing prompts to get you in a creative mood. Feel free to pick one of the options below for a free write.


1. What makes you happy? Explain and provide examples.

2. Describe your favorite place in as much detail as possible.

3. Describe your most memorable holiday or vacation.

4. Pick a favorite food. Describe your senses while you are eating it – the taste, smell, or texture.

5. Describe your best friend. What qualities make them your best friend? What qualities do you usually look for in a friend?

6. What’s one thing you could never live without and why?

7. Explain how you would entertain guests that unexpectedly show up at your home.

8. Is there a cause that you support? Write a plea to others to get them to support your cause.

9. If you were to open a restaurant, what would you sell? What would be the theme? What would the name of your restaurant be?

10. If you were to start a band, what kind of music would you make? What instrument would you play? What would be the name of your band?

11. If you inherited 10 million dollars, what would you spend it on?

12. What do you think is the worst crime that someone can commit? Why?

13. Describe a day that you would like to relive. Why would you like to relive this day in particular?

14. When you get older, where would you like to settle down? Describe the setting and the scene in as much detail as possible.

15. Which city in the world is your dream city? Why?
