write Essay

Postby ziyad » Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:42 pm

How to finish the sentence after a period, what the better put period then space then write Or put a period then go to the next line?

for example:

Money can give you reassurance, but it doesn't bring happiness. Wise words from a wise lottery winner.

Or

Money can give you reassurance, but it doesn't bring happiness.
Wise words from a wise lottery winner.

If a sentence is related to the one you wrote before, you do not have to click "Enter".

Very good question Ziyad! Thank you for asking.

So the rule is when you finish a sentence with a period, two spaces come after the period and then you start the new sentence.

For example:
Money can give you reassurance, but it doesn't bring happiness. Wise words from a wise lottery winner. <-- Correct.

Money can give you reassurance, but it doesn't bring happiness.Wise words from a wise lottery winner. <-- Incorrect.

At the beginner and intermediate levels, you only want to hit enter or return on your keyboard (which brings you to a different line) when you start a new paragraph.

Typical paragraph length for ESL learners is usually 5 - 10 sentences (though it can vary depending on context).

Please ask more questions if you need!

Yes also a good point! You only click "enter" when you want to introduce a new paragraph, which introduces a completely new set of ideas.
