This is Teacher Ben at E52. Here are some more book recommendations for readers at the intermediate level that are seeking out a good story and a bit of a challenge. Hopefully you find something interesting to add to your list!
1. Charlotte’s Web – 1952
This famous children’s novel by E.B. White details the relationship between a livestock pig named Wilbur and a spider named Charlotte and Charlotte’s attempt to save Wilbur from the slaughterhouse.
2. Julie of the Wolves - 1972
This unique novel from Jean Craighead George features a young Inuit girl named Julie in Alaska who feels torn between her traditional culture and the modern culture being forced upon her. Finding herself in an unbearable situation, she escapes her life and finds herself in the arctic wild coexisting with a wild wolf pack.
3. A Wrinkle in Time - 1962
This science fantasy classic from Madeline L’Engle is considered to be one of the finest examples of fantasy to date. The main characters go on a journey through time and space, exploring universes and different ideas surrounding spirituality and morality in an attempt to save the world.
4. Maniac Magee – 1990
This esteemed novel by the cherished young adult author Jerry Spinelli tackles difficult issues such as racism and homelessness. It follows the story of an orphaned boy nicknamed Maniac, a stellar athlete who takes the town of Two Mills by storm and attempts to close the racial divide that is present among the townspeople.

A coming-of-age tale by Mexican-American author Sandra Cisneros, The House on Mango Street focuses on the viewpoint of a teenage Latina who struggles growing up in an impoverished Chicano neighborhood in Chicago. It discusses the difficult topic of marginalized Latinos surviving in a predominately white country.

Perhaps the quintessential young adult coming-of-age novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton focuses on teenaged gangsters and the class divide and reckless behavior that lead them to make a grave mistake. Hinton was 15 when she started the novel, which helps the reader truly see into the mind of a teenager in the 1960s.
7. Night – Elie Wiesel – 1960
Elie Wiesel’s tragic Night recalls his time spent as a teenager in the Nazi German concentration camps from 1944-1945 and his experiences within. While recalling the horrors of the camps, Wiesel focuses on the issues of morality and humanity that came to light during his time as a prisoner.
8. The Golden Compass - 1995
The first in Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy, this young adult fantasy novel is not just for teenagers. It’s dark and brooding atmosphere and setting make this fantasy adventure set in the Arctic an addictive must-read for adults and children alike.

Again, we have another novel aimed at younger adults that can be enjoyed by all because of its depth and morality. The dystopian future expertly crafted by Lois Lowry shows a “perfect” world devoid of emotion, memory, and color, and focuses on a young boy who must be introduced to difficult ideas from the past in order to aid the community.

This family drama from Judith Guest is a simple and effective study of a suburban family torn apart and trying to cope after tragedy. It focuses on how different people deal with loss. The award-winning movie is also worth checking out!

I would like to recommend a book name "I am Malala"
The book is about the girl in Pakistan who stood up for a female education. When she was 15 years old, she have been shot by Taliban. However after that experiences she have become a symbols of human rights and won a Nobel peace prize in 2014.
I think this book is contain with an interesting topic and vocabulary is not that difficult to read. It is very suitable for a student who want to practice a reading skills. In this book, the author use the word very clear and interesting expression
in her writing style, so it is easily to follow her opinion and build up vocabulary along the reading.
